Crowdwork is a relatively new form of work in which individual tasks are assigned to external workers, known as crowdworkers, via online platforms. This volume presents findings from a broad-based research project that examines the work, learning practices and individual significance of platform-based work from the perspectives of sociology of work, vocational education and business education. The contributions deal with aspects such as subjectification, knowledge generation, competence development, professionalism and learning in platform-based work.
