This book contains descriptions and illustrations of more than 300 kinds of natural stone, presented alphabetically according to standard trade names. The individual profiles give information on the stones’ origin, petrographic classification, visual features and geotechnical characteristics. Simple symbols make it easy to characterise and classify the stones according to their practical applications, differences in colour, deliverability and price level. This handy book gives architects, planners and building clients an overview of the diversity of natural stone, and is intended for use directly with customers. Even professional dealers and stone workers will find materials here that go beyond what is available in the usual wholesale range.
