Die SED im Alltag der DDR”, die von der Bundesstiftung zur Aufarbeitung der SED-Diktatur herausgegeben wird. The photo-text book “The Party is always right. The SED in everyday life in the GDR” examines how deeply the Socialist Unity Party of Germany intervened in people‘s lives. It presents 110 photos and documents as well as concise texts in German and English that trace the contradictions of life under the dictatorship. QR codes with links to short film documents and video interviews provide multimedia content. The book is a companion volume to the exhibition “The Party is always right. The SED in everyday life in the GDR”, which is published by the Federal Foundation for the Study of the Communist Dictatorship in Germany.
